Dear Everyone,

Once again I'm sitting here with my personal assistant Leo, acting as scribe, guide, philosopher and friend (also personal psychiatrist), and composing my letter to you all.

How often I think of my M.E.H.S. children (and their grand-children) and send my telepathic good wishes and prayers to everyone of you. I am so proud of what you have achieved and thankful that I had a small part to play in your successful lives.

I was so happy to see the video brought by Cynthia Aye and Tin Maung Thaw and was able to pick out many of you on the film. Thank you for sending it and the good wished it conveyed.

As for me, life goes on peacefully though I am very lonely since George died on 23rd July '97. I miss him a lot, but I am very lucky to have good friends and a loving family. Half an hour ago, Gillian and her grand-daughter (my great grand-daughter) Georgia Meredith, daughter of Samantha and Mark, a farmer, were here for the afternoon. I had great fun with Georgia who is now 4 years old and started preparatory school recently. Another great grand-daughter, Jennifer McMillan, almost the same age, and a great grand-son of 5 months, Hamish McMillan, are often brought to see me and they call me "Gate-Gan".

At the moment, I am feeling quite disillusioned by doctors who tell me that I should put up with my ailments due to my advancing age - as if I needed telling. I certainly don't feel my age, which is 84. I still manage to complete the Sunday crossword correctly, although I do have trouble remembering the names of the children I taught here in England. It seems suprising how well I remember the names of all my star pupils and rascals of M.E.H.S., Rangoon. I especially remember one pupil who said that there was no one who knew Mrs. Logie better than he did because of the time he had spent in detention in the office - bless him!

Please write to me whenever you can. I love receiving your letters and hearing all your news.

May God bless you all in the lives you have carved out for yourselves.

I am proud of you all.

Doreen Logie
