This is great. I migrated to Australia in 1975 and has been living in Sydney since then. There are not many ex MEHS students here and hopefully I can contact some of my old friends via email. |

It is a great idea. We have a group here who would like to set up a network called the "Myan-Net" which will be dedicated to development. It will be non-political and non-religious. I want to know who are the organizers of the MEHS web site. Congratulations. I take my hat off to all of you. Great work. I am working as a web manager for the UNDP, RBAP web site. Check out www.undp.org and click on "Discover UNDP". Then select RBAP under regional bureaux. Regards, Kyaw Myaing |

Through your web page I have managed to contact my long lost good friend, Gilbert M S, and we are now communicating each other regularly thru e-mail. We haven't seen each other for over 30 years! |

Maybe you will not recall my school name-Edwin Tut. I passed my high school in the same year as Ivan Teoh. I believed he is a doctor in the US Navy. [Editor's note: Ivan was in the Navy for a few years, but is now in private practice in Wisconsin.] I used to have a singing group "The Teen Angels" with Frank and Victor Chit, Bo Zaw Win and self in our high school days. Through the website, I will E-mail to the friends who will know me or I'll be glad to reply to any of the old students junior to me or older, who ever wish to contact me can use my E-mail or: Tel (662) 259 8362 Fax 662 664 0370 at home. These will be suitable with the time differences. I lived and run my own family business in Bangkok, for Marine Consultancy, surveys and ship technical and Myanmar seamen management since 1988. It is an ISO 9002 Certified Company in 1997. I work for Marine Surveying Companies from New York, New Jersey, Reston Va, and Florida in the States. I have a few in Panama, Belize and U.K. I am the only Myanmar who has this world wide marine consultancy and survey works. We are altogether (4) Myanmar Surveyors in my Company. One surveyor is Maisie Chit's son (Frank Chit's nephew) - Ko Ko Naing. He was working on my ships as a Radio Officer for (4) years and I did not know he is Maisie's son. Maisie wrote to me as U Aye Tut to look after her son. Only after "Weesee" Thin Thein Maung told her that Aye Tut is Edwin, and told me who Ko Ko Naing was, then all come to a close. It is a small world after all. At the start of my career, I joined the Mercantile Cadet training as a Myanmar Government scholar in 1963 when I began to lose contact with the old students. I went to sea for the Government National shipping line (Five Star Line) in 1965 and left the Company in 1986. I was a sea Captain for 14 years and turned to working ashore in Thailand where I met again a few of my school days friends in Singapore and Bangkok. I sailed on the same ship with Jon Htwe Maung as mates (Jon now lives in Long Beach), Steven Yone Moe (now deceased) as my Radio Officer and Walter Chain Lyan (now in LA) as my Chief Engineer. In Bangkok, I met again Jennifer Raj nee Bachoe, Michael Po Saw and Victor Yaw Hlaing. Ivy Chit is teaching at our sons' High school. She was home room teacher to Minn at 12th. grade. Mickey is now in Brunei. Jennifer and Victor are still in Bangkok. My wife and I were in the States last May for my son's graduation and met a few friends, including Gloria and Jimmy, Jon Htwe Maung, of course, and spoke to Walter on the phone. I spend a few days also with Frank Chain Lyan in NJ. Alan De Santos (Tin Win) and wife Pat (Patricia Aung Win, she is also from MEHS) came to work in Thailand Ruamrudee International School, after leaving behind the cold weather of London. We went out for dinner occasionally. My elder son Minn is working with Sun Microsystem after his graduation from WPI, Worcester, Ma. I have a younger son Lin, who will finish his high school here from Thailand International school and probably enter Michigan U. My wife Tammy was from St. Philomena's, Rangoon and is a house wife. By fall, only the two of us will be in Bangkok. We are still Myanmar nationals. Most MEHSA students knew Tammy well. This short background can be remembered by some friends in the States. I have occasional contact with Gloria and Jimmy in LA, Jon Htwe Maung in Long Beach and Frank Chain Lyan in NJ. |

Congratulations!! This is what we need in this cyber age. Please let me know if I can be of any help. Meantime, I will pass the news to the New York stationed United Nation families that attended MEHS. I wonder, if I should go global with the news. Please let me know. With best personal regards to Mrs. Logie and Juliet... |

I'm very happy to see this website. I've been wondering what happened to the publication that Juliet was writing/distributing a few years ago. Anyway, let's all pitch in and continue this into the future. Our MEHS heritage is something that we all should be proud of and this will definitely allow us to reminisce our younger days. If you ever get to talk to Mrs Logie please give her my love and tell her that the neighborhood brat is doing fine. |

Its good to know that you have created this Website for MEOSA.....I guess you want to re-name it MEHSA? You know Cleo Kyin Oo has been working on it too.... This is very good for starters, Does anyone have our MEHS school photo? If so we can put it on this Website.....the school motto and the school song etc. My only suggestion at this moment is a space like this and a bulletin board so people may put up announcements of births, dealths, marriages, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.... Thanks for starting it first.... I know we all offered to start but all of us seem to be too busy to start it.... Anyway, I will forward this info to Cleo. Good luck with the Web page... |

I've checked the earthlink MEHSA website. It's a great start. Perhaps you can also add another section called "Nostalgia" or "Do you remember?" or some such thing. In that section you can include, favorite MEHS songs (including the Methodist school song); poems, etc., that were in "Swaying Palm"; photos of teachers, the mohinga vendor, Aunty Julie, etc. Maybe another section can include comments from old graduates; stories and jokes about their MEHS experiences. Another could be a "slide show" of Rangoon scenes, the school of course, etc. | |
