I wrote here one year ago after discovering your website a few days earlier. My first impression remains unchanged. Your website is really GREAT. Congratulations to the founder and the MEHSA committee and also to Kenny for his excellent work to administer, maintain and provide informations to all former students and their friends of this prestigious Methodist English High School. My sincere thanks to you again. With the help of the informations available from the website, during the course of last year, I have re-contacted most of my former MEHS friends with whom I have lost sight for almost 40 years or more. They are Cecil L. W. Wagstaff, Richard Soe Aye (Kyee Soe), Edgar Wun (Oak Thar), Eddie Swe (Thein Swe), Eugene Sio (Thein Swe), Shirley Nyunt (Dr. Yi Yi Myint) by the kind courtesy of Dr. Lynn Aung Thet, Dr. Pamela Marshall (Pamela Soe Nyunt), a dear friend of mine now living in the US Capital, and last but not least, my dear old friend of my Yankin College days, Winnie Tun Tin with whom I communicate regularly by E-mails or phone. I have also renewed contacts with Jeannie Lim (Jeannie John) living now in Canada who wrote to me after reading my article "Burmese abroad with several names" in the "Reflections" page. I have heard that you will be having a big school reunion (Third International MEHSA Reunion) next January in Bangkok. As I have been invited by a friend, I will certainly attend the reunion as a guest. I look forward to meeting all my former friends and hope to make new acquaintances. Anyone wishing to write to me, please do so. I will love to read from you.

Please! Anyone who remembers me - I'd love to hear from you. It has been so long I was in MEHS till 1964-65. It's really wonderful to know this site and so many names I recognised. You formed a large and memorable set of familes in our school and I was a classmate of Sheila Patail, Fareeda Patail and other friends who were with me in the same class. Well, I left Burma early 1969 after the marriage and settled down in Karachi, Pakistan. Travelled abroad to different countries with my husband Mr. A. H. Moosajee, who was posted in different countries from Pakistan International Airlines, as Station Manager. My e-mail address....saljees@hotmail.com

Daw Khin Khin Myint, 1941 graduate!!! I was recently in the Twin Cities for an Aung San Suu Kyi event and there I met Daw Khin Khin Myint who was a 1941 graduate of the Methodist English Girls School... the last class to graduate before WWII. She had Mrs. Logie as a teacher! We had a great conversation. She and her husband, Prof. Jensen, had returned to Burma as Fulbright faculty members in 1961. Their stay there was cut short by the coup. Her present email address is jense003@umn.edu and she uses Khin Khin Jensen as her name in the USA. I'll send the MEHSA website a photo of us from that meeting. Cheers! |

I have just discovered the web site and have found it most interesting and also brought back a lot of memories. Our family sadly left Rangoon in 1960 and came to the U.K. There are two photographs of me without a name in the year 1968. The first one is in Mrs. Middleton MKG. 1st. row 1B. and the other is in Mrs. Franklin STD. IIA third row 3J. My name then was Sandra Wallace.

Please check out the reflection page where Mr. Thomas Manton has written about his parents (Dr. & Mrs. Manton) and there you will find that the school had to be rebuilt after the war. The Methodist English Church under the leadership of Dr. Manton rebuilt the school and most of the funds and fund rasing efforts were driven by the church. For accurate records you may contact the church in Rangoon c/o Bishop Zothan Mawia. If you need contact info, please email me. Hope this helps. |

Please assist us. Edwin Tin Tut, Harry Taw & myself, are trying to find out the exact date the MEHS was first founded or established. A note dated 28JULY2001, from our website archives from a delightful 'young' lady, a Ms. Pat Lin Magdamo, states that she was in the school when War came to Burma out in December of 1941 etc., that Mr. Logie was a teacher then, and that it was 'All Girls' School at the time. It would have to have been prior to 1941. Would anyone know the date? If you do, please, please, please give us this information, either via the website, or direct to me at my E-Mail Address which is: cecil@wagstaff.id.au Thank you.

My nee name was Pal. My family repartriated in the year 1963. I was then in Std IX and was only 13 yrs of age. My father was a well reknowned Eye Specialist Dr. P. K. Pal. I have a sister too, her name is Sandhya. We both studied in Methodist. We have such fond memories of our beautiful childhood at the school and I am trying my best to recollect all the names of my friends. I am absolutely elated to discover this Website and never thought that one day I will come face to face with my school all over again. Young as I was, I still remember the building and I feel tearful that life has gone past so swiftly and so many loved ones we have lost. If anyone remembers me and wants to get in touch with me, I would be too happy to stay in touch and can email me. Love to all MEHS Email: sadhana@wmg.co.in |

Thank you MEHS committee for all your efforts and brain storming for the founding of MEHSA, especially Edwin Tut. Looking forward to our next reunion in Bangkok and perhaps Rangoon. I am still trying to get in touch with Ann Greenwell, Brenda Stutes, Carol McFarland, Sterling Kerr, Nancy Bosack, Jeannie Lucas. We used to sit on the banks of the Rangoon Yacht club and watch the Rangoon University hunks practice their rowing skills for the next match. Some of them even got their fathers to extend their tour of duty in Rangoon. I want to tell you I did graduate with honors from the University in the USA! and am also pleased to inform that after paying my dues of 27 years to the Probation Department I retired in 2004. |

My pleasure was immense since I have been trying and so was Bob Fuller in trying to re-establish contacts that we first made in 1960 during our activities at the Science Club. It is very exciting to read comments related with wanting to meet friends again or get in touch with friends and classmates again. One of the best line: "Anyone who is out there, would like to get in touch, please email me". At our age, as long as we are Alumni, friends and families of Alumni, we can be great friends too. Many great friends, not necessarily classmates are ready to treat each other wholeheartedly, warmly and become new friends; one will not be left out... we promise you... So, in nine months time... Please come to the 3rd. International MEHSA ReUnion in Bangkok, Thailand on 12 January 2008. Thank you for your time. ReUnion Working Committee |

Dear MEHS Alums, How about us getting together a list of Burmese restaurants around the world, so as we travel around we can get some authentic Burmese food? Some of us live many, many miles from the nearest Burmese restaurant and would like to be able get some authentic Burmese food for a change! What about Chicago? As far as I can tell there is no Burmese restaurant in the Chicago area. Cheers,
