I only came to know yesterday that there is a web site of MEHSA. Am delighted. Left Rangoon in June 1966 and migrated to Pakistan. When I left the school I was in 4th standard. My two sisters were also in the school - The elder sister's name is Khursheed and younger is Rukhsana.

I am running my own business of commodity trading mainly in fertilizer / wheat / chrome ore and in chartering of vessel.

Travel widely and for last couple of years visiting Yagoon regularly and to school as well.

Thank goodness for E/Mail. I have been trying to get in touch with all my old friends for the past 40 years. What sad news about Juliet, she was one of my very best friends, if only I had found this sooner.

I will forward the photo of my sister Louise on to her in Borneo. Please get in touch anyone who remembers me and give me all your news. I still keep in touch with Mrs. Logie and mainly Gillian.

I have 4 children and 1 Grandson. My 2 eldest are Immigration Officers and the 2 youngest work in local Government, and I work for Kings College University.

I was one of those very naughty students, but how I miss my schooldays in Burma and hold very warm memories of all my old teachers and friends. I am still in contact with Mavis Edwards and sadly Gussie McLean died last year. After teaching me in Burma she went on in England to teach two of my children.

My Mum passed away 1994, it was so sad as if anyone enjoyed life to the full it was her and after going around America on a greyhound bus at the age of 70 years she became ill and died a year later. My Love and best wishes to you all.

Please get in touch anyone who remembers me. I am the younger sister of Louise and the daughter of Doris Chamarette who was the Private Secretary to Mrs Logie. In case you are not on E/Mail my address is:

My brother Michael Lim informed me of the Web Site of MEHS. Delighted to know about it, and found many "lost" friends and classmates. Thanks to Juliet Teoh (sorry to hear that she passed away recently) and the present editors. Putting my email in right away. Will try to get you photos. Great work, and do continue the good deed.

This keeps getting better and better!!

I discovered this website a few months ago and had a fantastic trip down memory lane. I started nursery at MEHS in 1955, went through kindergarten, primary and secondary years to matriculate in 1969. The school certainly played a huge part in my childhood and teenage years.

After graduating from Rangoon Institute of Medicine (1), I worked at Insein General Hospital for some years before leaving for Singapore with my family. We came to Australia in 1995 and since 1997, I have changed professions and am now working as a health information manager at Westmead Hospital in Western Sydney.

There are some ex MEHS students living in Sydney. About 10 of us got together at Nilar Ba Shin's place when teacher Daw Nu Nu (Raymond Tin's mother) came to visit her son in 1999. She was going back to Rangoon in a few days time. We had lunch, took photos and all of us chipped in for the annual ex MEHS old teachers 'saya kan daw pwe'.

Through this website I was able to get in touch with my old classmates from 10C, some of whom I had lost contact years ago. It was most wonderful to catch up all the news within a short period of time. Thanks Kenny for making it happen and for creating an excellent website.

Many thanks to the Teoh brothers for helping us get in touch with old friends. Special thanks to Harry Taw for finding Pat (Thoung Sein) Kin Oung in Australia for me. I received a phone call from her on Thursday and we are trying to catch up on the last 40 years! Also thanks to June (Rajh) Larden for the lovely conversation with her. I have forwarded the website to Vivian Alex Sharma now in Montreal. I remember many names and faces that I encounter in the articles and also our school motto "Not for school but for life do we learn".

Many happy memories for an old graduate of MEHS!

Fabulous site!

A good way to know where your old acquaintances are and what they are doing...

Keep up the good work!

I got information about this website through a friend who's here in UK.

I have a vague memory about the MEHS days. All I could recall were the Christmas celebrations when I would be crying my eyes out and screaming because of my "SANTA PHOBIAS". I started schooling at MEHS since nursery and I remember Daw Gyo Phyu who was my teacher in Middle KG. Another vague memory was when I was in my 2nd standard and the class teacher happened to be Daw Nyu Nyu (Colonel Soe Tint's wife) and Chit Nyi Nyi@Derek's Mum. I was in 4th standard when MEHS became a State School. I was abroad between the year 1969-1972 and returned to Burma and passed 10th standard in 1972 March.

I got my medical degree in 1982 from IM1. I practiced medicine for 8 years in Malaysia and then came to UK in 1994. I'm now working here as a psychiatrist.

I find that there are very few people from my batch and later batches in the Alumni and it would be great if we could get in touch with them.

I would love to hear from people who knows and remember me and my e-mail address is DraaYee@hotmail.com.

I am also interested to know the whereabouts of Ko Bo Bo Kyaw Nyein and Edward Lay (Myo Aung)@Boo Boo.

Aye Aye Yee.

Hi there!

I accidentally stumbled upon the MEHSA site!

My brother (Caesar) and myself both attended MEHS until 1960 - when I was age 12 - my Dad (U Mo Myit) was sent off to become Executive Director to the World Bank in DC. I have never returned to Burma since then (my mother is Thai and consequently we usually visited Bangkok). However, just recently my son went on a honeymoon to Rangoon and visited my cousins Peter and Marcus Mo Kyaw.

I am currently a Swiss citizen and have been living in Geneva since 1965.

I will write to Mrs. Logie and will pay her a visit since I travel to the UK often on business.

I will be happy to hear from any other "classmates" and any "Alumni" activities, etc!

Best regards,

I copied the Aulumni Directory into MS Excel and sorted the names by geographical locations, most of the former MEHS students are here in the USA, 35 in California alone. As you know the Alumni Directory is missing the locations of many students. How can we get that info. in order that I can produce a distribution chart of MEHS Migration.

Granville.

[Editor's Note: Initially, we did not ask for Location, so the alumni who signed on earlier did not provide that information. For those who have not done so, please submit a change of information form and provide your location. Thanks.]
