My brother (William Chen, class of '64) sent me the MEHS web site and am thrilled to read about people I remember and some I have forgotten, but immediately remember them when I saw their pictures or their names.

When I left Burma in 1967, I lived in England with Mrs A. McLean (2nd standard teacher) for almost 2 years. During that time, I accompanied her to many Burmese get- togethers. Some of the few MEHS people were: Mrs Phyllis MacKenzie (she worked in the office), Mrs Munroe and her children, Mrs. Chan, my class mates: Geraldine Deas and Brenda Peirera (lost contact with them). I wonder if anyone who lives in England know any of the people I mentioned.

I have lived in the States since 1969 and have lived in the West Coast for the past 26 years. My siblings and I live close to each other. I have contacts with Lilian Wu (her father was the famous Dr. Wu Moon Aung who passed away a few weeks ago), Rene Nag (sister of Sawpan and Predeep), the Kamdars, Margaret Myint Swe (Gano) who gives me info about her sisters, Mable, June and Gilbert. I went to Margaret's wedding in 1994 and saw the whole Kamdar clan, Sheila Patail, Fareeda Patail and many more from MEHS. It turned out to be a reunion/wedding ceremony and we visited the homes of some of the Kamdar sisters and ate Burmese food. Of course, we reminisced about our younger days when we had so much fun.

Anyone who remembers us, please email me or my siblings (I will forward your email to them). Would loooooove to hear from you.

Class of (GCE) '65. Sister of William, Lin (Lucy) and Ted. My brother, William, just forwarded this website to me and I have been on it for almost 2 hours, browsing the photos, reading the letters and about our teachers at MEHS.

My family and I visited Yangoon in 1992 and attended our church adjacent to our school. The church is no longer part of the school (there is a fence between the school and the church).

Have kept in touch with my classmates; Lilian Wu, Susie Lim (Fong), the Kamdars, Margaret Myint Swe (Gano) and Rene Nag (Chaudhuri). Everyone except Rene lives in Southern Californ, Rene lives in Canada. Her brother, Sawpan Nag, lives in LA.

My siblings and I live in Northern California, within 1/2 hour to 1 hour from each other.

When I saw the Web site, I felt I had to write and hope to have some contact with friends I haven't seen since I left Burma.

I thoroughly enjoy the site which brings back fond memories of MEHS and the friends. Thanks to the great effort of Juliet and friends of this wonderful, informative Web site.

Would love to hear from anyone who remembers me.

This is my first visit to your site. I feel so happy I have a lump in my throat. It make me very happy to find some old friends' names in the directory. I am going to write them.

Thanks and God Bless. Keep up the good work to keep all the MEHSer to get in touch with each other.

P.S. I'm going to Burma this Feb for our Christ Methodist Church MYF 50 anniversary. If anyone attend the Church hope to see you there.

Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year and Best Wishes for the New Millennium*******

My name was Peter Ba Pu at school. I matriculated in 1966 from class 10 C. Then I studied Medicine at Medical College (1), Rangoon and graduated in 1973. After a stint in Rangoon, I left for UK on 19 November, 1978 and has been in England since.

I live in Leeds and has been since 1981. I am single. I am currently a Community Paediatrician working in a neighbouring town of Halifax. I keep in touch closely with Edward Thein Han & Victor Thein Han, Daisy Ohn Maung (10 B). Of my class mates I keep in touch with Stanley Shain and see him most times I visit Rangoon. I sometimes see San San Min and until Peter Kyaw Htoon was posted to Switzerland would see him when I visit Home. Occassionally, I meet Leo Tan at Burmese gatherings. William Pe Kyi is the closest to me, also in Leeds and keep in constant touch as with Daisy Ohn Maung.

I had just joined the cyber community in July, 1999. William did give me the website address but can't seem to get it until a friend from America sent me this address. Please keep in touch and now that I've got the connection, I will also.

Best Wishes

It was with great pleasure that we were able to access the web site MEHSA. Robert Fuller, who was a teacher at MEHS, had told us about the site but we had not been successful until now in finding it (we are very new at this computing business). We have been reading with joy and interest all the various parts of the web-site. It really is a great testimony to Mrs. Logie and the teachers at MEHS that so many of you spread throughout the world have done so well. And it is great that you are so eager to stay in touch.

We were in Burma for too short a time from 1959-62. Hugh was pastor of the Methodist English Church and Ruby taught Morals at MEHS and also for a 6 month period, while Mrs. Logie was on leave, served as Principal (with great fear and trembling). Hugh was asked in 1962 to serve in New York for the United Methodist Board of Missions as an Area Secretary for the Methodist work in Southeast Asia. So we left Rangoon and settled in N.Y. city but Hugh traveled regularly to visit the various Methodist projects and people. We are now retired and live in San Diego, California in a retire- ment home. We are in good health and travel quite frequently to various places. Asia continues to be of special interest.

I just wanted to say 'thank you' to June Rajh for putting me in touch with Edith Mariano... if this site didn't exist, we would not have been able to reestablish contact... so thank you to everyone responsible.

If anyone is interested, I am in periodic touch with Mr Henderson who used to teach us Maths!! He phones me sometimes and is planning a visit to Yangon, with his daughter in February 2000.

It was with great sadness I heard that Juliet had passed away......

I managed to visit Mrs. Logie twice within the past two weeks in her rest-home, which must have really surprised her. She is looking brighter now and I'm sure it is the company and attention that she is getting in the rest-home, together with the relief of not being alone and not having to worry about the upkeep of the house, her meals and who would look after her should she fall ill.

She has a nice little room on the first floor at the front of the house and overlooking the drive. She can wave to people arriving or leaving from her window.

She has asked me to let everyone know that she will not be able to send cards and letters this Christmas but that she sends her love and wishes to all her ex-MEHS students.

I think it would be a big boost to her spirits if everyone who attended or worked in the MEHS sent her a card as she is always so proud of telling everyone in the rest-home of her school and how well all her students have turned out to be. And it never fails to amaze people that there are so many of us, ex-MEHS students, all over the world.

I would like you to put this short message on the website for me and hope people respond to this request. Mrs. Logie's address is as below.

Mrs. Doreen Logie
Areley House
Areley Lane
Stourport-on-Severn
Worcestershire DY13 0AB
United Kingdom

Yours sincerely,
Leo
