If I am not in, please leave your phone numbers and I will call you back. I will probably be out from 0830Hours till 1900Hours, so please call outside of these times, if possible.

Will look forward to an update on all your news over the years and the Reunion you have planned.

Hope we can meet any of you who are in New York, Buffalo and Washington.

Thank you all very much,

Was quite thrilled to come across this web-site.
Would like to contact students from class of 1964, GCE section.
It might be a good idea to classify all MEHS old students country wise, so that any one planning to visit that country could check for old acquaintances and contact them if possible.

My sister Ruth Davies (nee King) gave me this address when she returned from a holiday in Perth, W Australia. My mother was Mrs. Emily King who taught the GCE history class in the 1950s. She passed away in 1992. My father was Capt. Danny King, who was well known in boxing circles, passed away in 1972. Ruth is my older sister and she lives in West Molesey, Surrey. I have a younger brother Dunstan who lives in Chelmsford, Essex.

Our family emigrated to the UK in October 1961 when I was in Std 9 - by which time I had spent some 10 years in the MEHS. We would be delighted to hear from anyone who remembers us. My address is 25 Ravensmead Road, Shortlands, Bromley, Kent BR2 0BD, UK.

Those who remember Mrs. Brindley, who taught the Std 5 GCE class, will be sorry to hear that she died in the 1980s.

Thanks for creating and maintaining the much-needed M.E.H.S.A. web pages! In addition to "M. E. H. S.", you should also make it searchable under the query string, "MEHS". If anyone is interested in receiving the latest newsletter or information on how to become a member of the Burmese American Medical Association of Southern California (B.A.M.A), please send me an e-mail (Sandarwin@aol.com), and I will forward it to its current President or to one of its EC members.

Please accept my condolences on the passing away of Sandra (Halhed). I do not recall knowing you but Sandra was my seatmate in the seventh grade GCE class. She was a sweet and quiet individual whom I had the pleasure of being seated next to.

I was given this address at a gathering of MEHS friends to meet Ruth King who was visiting from the UK. Some of those at the party were, Alan Simpson, Alfred Pereira(host), Christopher Manook, Brenda Pereira, Alan Colquhoun, the name of some others do not come to mind just now.

Perhaps you could news bulletin which lists messages from MEHS members. I was married to Sandra Halhed of MEHS who unfortunately passed away with cancer in 1992. Her cousin Fay Fencott also lives in Perth Western Australia. There are many of us in Perth. I do apologise for being unable to validate my submission as I attended MEHS for only two years, having been educated in the main in India, Kurseong.

Reading through the few backgrounds of some teachers, one realises the importance of our Principal, Mrs. Logie, teachers and school.

If you recall your career promotions, the basic was graduating from MEHS, further your studies at Rangoon Univeristy, gradute there from Medical or Engineering colleges or Science, Art or commerce and enter into life of work locally or in a foreign country.

Many attained his or her first jobs with Government or Private Agencies by presentation of the University degree.

I am one of the few who could land a Government Scholarship, a secured job offer and going up the ranks to where I am now by the presentation of the MEHS high school graduation Certificate, a recommendation letter from the Acting Principal. Miss Halagwa only, to my applied job offer, so it means a lot more important that the basic education had been my bread winner.

I am one of the few lucky ones, thanks to the basic learning received as a student from UKG under many good teachers, being a School Prefect and a Boy Scout leader, I reached this highest position in one's life, which Mrs. Logie and teachers may not envisage at that time, over three decades ago.

Does any one still have the MEHS gradutation Certificate? Which I still have (the Original). Maybe you want to see my Certificate on the website for memories gone by?

Thanks for a great website! It's a wonderful idea. Never thought I would be "revisiting" Methodist this way. Sure brought back a lot of fond memories. Nice job. A suggestion for the reunion would be to invite Mrs. Logie. Also to inform that teacher Khin Khin Thein resides in Phoenix, AZ.

Hi Everybody!
I saw MEHS website and I think it is just fantastic. It really bring tears to my eyes to see Mrs. Logie again. God bless her. I am very happy to see some of my teachers, and familiar faces and names. I saw my old maths teacher, Mrs. Tun Khin's photograph and would really appreciate if anyone can give me her address as I would like to write to her.

I am not sure if anybody would remember me. But would be glad to communicate with my old friends from MEHS. Looking at the photo gallery refreshed alot of fond memories. I still remember MEHS song, Kokkobura and Kum ba ya. These are memories that I will treasure for ever. Although I graduated from SHS(1) Dagon in 1970, I still regard my self as old MEHS student.

Thanks again for the golden website.
Would really love to hear from you. You can always contact me.

Thanks again

Rember the good old days when our school was divided into four houses. Livingstone, Wesley, Carey and Judson and the competitions we had so that our flag would be on the top of the flag pole. I belonged to Livingstone and Jimmy belonged to Carey. We were both basketball players and also played other sports. I played field hockey for the school and Jimmy played football. Do any of you still remember any of the house cheers. Would love to know them if anyone can provide. Hope to see all of you at the 2001 Reunion.

I was the music teacher who tried to get everyone to sing at 8 A.M. on Monday during Assembly. Mrs. Logie was always at the piano, so there were never any "shenanigans" except when I taught a song that had "dirty" Burmese words in the Chorus. We didn't sing that one again (Thanks to Mrs. Turner clueing me in.)

Thanks to Juliet for setting up this web page. It's good to be in contact with M.E.H.S. folks.

I was a science master at MEHS from 1959-61. I taught physical science while Ms. Johnson taught biology and chemistry. I also taught morals in the high school and gave the middle school chapel once a week. I also refereed basketball and organized a MEHS/Baptist missionary softball team. I also sponsored the MEHS Science Club, a science fair, and a career day at MEHS during that time.

When I returned to the USA I completed a PhD in physics from the Univ. of Illinois and am now a physics professor at the Univ. of Nebraska - Lincoln. I have a wife and three children. They have all completed college and no longer live at home. My wife, Margaret Sanders Fuller, was a friend of mine before I came to Burma and she has a box of letters that I wrote to her during the almost three years I was at MEHS. The school was located on Signal Pagoda Road in those days. I don't know what the road is called today. I don't even know what the school is called today. When we lived in England for a year, 1982-83, we went to visit Mrs. Logie. Her husband, George, was still alive at that time and her daughter, Gillian, and her husband lived nearby.

Four months back, through a search engine (AltaVista), I had located the MEHS site which only had an old photo of the building. Yesterday I was trying to show my brother this photo and I was pleasantly surprised to see a much more developed site. It was nostalgic.

Keep up the good work.

Regards.
